In their ongoing effort to make railing installations safer and easier for glaziers, C.R. Laurence has introduced its patent-pending Safety-Seal for its full line of GRS TAPER-LOC® Glass Railing Systems.
The new Safety-Seal will make its premiere at GlassBuild America, which takes place October 19-21 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Typically, glaziers need to reach over a glass railing to roll in the drop-side rubber seal. This action increases the risk of injury and prolongs the installation process. The Safety-Seal bypasses this step because it is installed in the base shoe before the glass is inserted.
This is made possible by a new, patent-pending base shoe design for the Safety-Seal on all C.R. Laurence GRS TAPER-LOC® Glass Railing Systems.
In addition, a universal setting block enables placement of the Safety-Seal prior to setting the glass. The result is a glass railing installation method that is safer and faster than standard procedures.
“We are leading the glass railing industry because we continually innovate and develop products with the glazier in mind,” said Chris Hanstad, Vice President of Architectural Sales at C.R. Laurence.
“Our revamped glass railing line with the new Safety-Seal places us far ahead of the curve and, more importantly, it gives glaziers a safer and more efficient way of installing railing systems.”
The GRS TAPER-LOC® Glass Railing System is dry-glazed and can reduce installation time by more than 50%.
The new Safety-Seal will further improve time-savings for glaziers. The system can be used with monolithic or laminated tempered glass, and requires only one person to install.
It is also the only ICC-ES approved glass railing system in the market. Other product features include base shoe push-in seals, integrated screw races for end cap fastening, and bottom block tape strips for glass adhesion.
GRS TAPER-LOC® Glass Railing Systems with the Safety-Seal are ideal for balconies, stairways, and other guardrail applications.
They are available with roll-formed stainless steel cladding that retains the benefits of a clad system at a lower cost. To learn more, visit crlaurence.com/taper-loc.
