RVs, XVs, campers, travel trailers, caravans, motor homes – thousands are on the motor home road getting away from it all. RVs have become increasingly popular and they are also fitted with modern technology.

RVs, XVs, campers, travel trailers, caravans, motor homes – thousands are on the motor home road getting away from it all. According to the RV Industry Association, a record level of 430,000 recreational vehicles (RVs) were sold in the US in 2016.*

It’s no wonder that RVs have become increasingly popular, as many of these homes on wheels are like luxury apartments that you can easily move from one superb location to another. They’re also fitted with modern technology, which is luring in buyers from younger generations.

Sleek and precise interior design required

Space is limited in all motor homes, and meticulous interior design is essential to incorporate the latest technology and comforts.

The driver’s seat is one area especially where new technology should help the driver and not take up any space. Visibility to the road ahead must be perfect, and important information must be clearly displayed and easily accessible.

The additional technological features like navigation and situational awareness systems need to display information to the driver and passenger(s) clearly.

Standard displays take up valuable space, obscure the driver’s view, and stand out like a sore thumb from a sleekly designed interior, so they’re really not your first choice for displaying information.

Head-up displays, or HUDs, won’t work either. HUDs require slanted windows, and RVs often have vertical windshields and windows. HUDs also have a very limited sweet spot – information is clearly visible only from a very narrow angle.

Transparent displays for motorhome windshields, windows, and glass surfaces

Lumineq® transparent and in-glass laminated displays have none of the challenges described above, and they’re not limited to the windshield. Any glass surface is the perfect invisible frame for our transparent display.

Transparent displays:

  • Are placed inside a windshield or window, they do not take up any valuable space
  • Show information clearly to the driver and passenger(s)
  • Become invisible when they are turned off
  • Underline, not undermine, meticulously designed interiors

With transparent displays, options to improve your motor home experience are endless!
