Jockimo Announces New Thick Glass Countertops and Revolutionizes the Kitchen and Bath Industry

Date: 9 November 2015

Jockimo, Inc., a leading architectural glass manufacturer, is now designing 3-inch ThickGlass™ countertops for homes.

The company recently installed an indoor-outdoor glass countertop at an exclusive New Jersey residence.  The state-of-the-art project was commissioned to create an elegant dining and entertaining space that matched the home’s modern architecture. Additionally, it increased the value of the home by nearly one hundred thousand dollars.

To create the unique, indoor-outdoor design, Jockimo fused together multiple pieces of custom-shaped glass with highly polished edges. The counter was designed to seamlessly transition from an indoor bar to an outdoor patio while allowing floor to ceiling glass window panels to slide open and closed. The homeowner opted for Jockimo’s classic Texture on the Bottom finish to reduce the appearance of fingerprints. Additionally, the panels capture air bubbles inside of the glass to create a three dimensional aspect to the panels.

“It’s time to stop thinking about glass as something that’s fragile and delicate,” says Tim Casey, Jockimo Inc. founder and CEO. “Our beautiful ThickGlass™ countertops are as durable as granite and requires less care. They are also heat and stain resistant.”

Aesthetically stunning but also notorious for strength and durability, Thick Glass Countertops are the hottest new interior design trend for the kitchen and bath industry. As durable as granite, thick glass counter tops require very little maintenance due to their non-porous surface. Jockimo ThickGlass™ has near-limitless customization options available: texture, color, finish, laminating, edge polishing and back lighting are among the available features. ThickGlass™ glass panels are regularly available in 3/4” (19mm), 1” (25mm), 1.5” (36mm), 2” (48mm) and 3” (72mm) thicknesses. Maximum panel sizes are 76” x 120”.
