Five objects have been created from a collaboration between set designer Covello and OmniDecor, which has always explored the creative possibilities of glass.
Different types of OmniDecor glass and the artistic ideas of Lidia Covello combine to produce micro installations in which the colourful geometric forms of DecorOpal in various shades are layered over OmniDecor transparent surfaces.
Intro presents the tension between the perception of the human mind and the freedom of appearances, in which light plays a key role by highlighting the expressive potential of the materials used.
Inspired by the reflections of Wassily Kandinsky collected in “Concerning the spiritual in art” (1910), the presented installation explores a dialogue founded on the value of hospitality. This dialogue invites the modern visitor to take part in a new world, in step with continual social change yet still capable of contemplating the presence of a spiritual dimension, in which everything can have meaning if looked at with a progressive gaze.
A gaze capable of taking in every aspect of the wide range of shades used by Lidia Covello for her creations: the contrast between warm colours which appear nearer and cool colours which seem to recede from the observer, catching the eye with combinations of complementary colours, borrowed from lessons on the history of art.
Lines, forms, colours, shapes and textures reference those counterpoints of abstract art so important to the historic avant-garde of which Kandinsky was a key exponent.
This conversation allows the contemporary visitor to participate in a brand-new world that is in pace with ongoing societal change but still open to the possibility of considering the existence of a spiritual dimension and in which anything might have significance if viewed with a forward-looking eye.
