Established hardware supplier Carl F Petersen Ltd has added the Trojan Mega Egress hinge to its broadening hardware range.

The Mega Egress friction stay, which offers exceptional fire escape functionality, is designed for use on casement window systems and is suitable for most side hung applications.

Carl F reports that, when using this hinge, the sash is allowed to open fully to 90º from the corner of the frame, resulting in the maximum possible window opening size whilst meeting fire escape regulations. When closed, the head of the hinge is held fast to maximise weather resistance and security.

With stainless steel construction and significant integral strength, product benefits include one hinge size for all frame widths up to 900mm and an impressive maximum load of 40kg.

Commenting, Carl F Petersen’s Business Development Manager Bruce Bradshaw said:

At Carl F, we are dedicated to sourcing the latest innovations in hardware. The industry’s latest design initiatives give our customers a strong sales proposition which, in turn, helps them to overcome the recession. The Trojan Mega Egress is an excellent example of this, as fabricators and installers can expand customers’ window selection options, which makes them more versatile in meeting end users’ needs.”

The Mega Egress hinge also incorporates an easy clean facility, allowing the outside of the sash to be cleaned from the inside. When the window is closed, the egress position re-engages automatically. Carl F recommends that, for safety reasons, the easy clean facility is not used on sashes wider than 600mm. An optional immobiliser is available to order.
