Alongside the summit, today also saw the first day of Gulfsol and Gulf Glass exhibitions at the same location.
The summit brought together 30 industry experts, government ministers and dignitaries from across the world to discuss the growing need for the utilization of solar energy.

Speakers at the summit included: His Excellency Dr. Matar Al Neyadi, Undersecretary, Minister of Energy, UAE; Jordan’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim Saif; Egypt’s Dr. Mohammed Salah el-Sobki, Executive Chairman, New and Renewable Energy Authority, Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy; Dr. Bertrand Piccard, Chairman and Pilot of Solar Impulse, His Excellency Ahmed Belhoul, CEO, Masdar.
After a successful launch in 2013, GulfSol returned for its second time and has proved to be a popular date in the regional solar industry’s calendar. With a number of government and international exhibitors, the event provides access to the region’s leading companies, which supply cutting edge solar energy technologies and products.
Exhibitor, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), is showcasing the Petroleum Institute’s Solar Car Yas on their stand at GulfSol: “As one of the world’s leading oil and gas companies, ADNOC has a proud history of conservation and environmental responsibility and is committed to ensure harmonious balance between its operational needs and the natural resources,” said Abdullah Nasser Al Suwaidi, ADNOC Director-General.

Gulf Glass a co-located event with GulfSol also received tremendous response from visitors on day one of the event.

Gulf Glass 2015 is also taking place at Dubai World Trade Center. As the only event of its kind in the region, Gulf Glass brings together more than150 exhibitors from across the Middle East.
Both GulfSol and Gulf Glass will run until Wednesday, September 16th, and will be open from 10:00-18:00 each day.
The events also includes free-to-attend practical educational workshops, which are CPD certified.
