DETROIT — The 2010 Ford Mustang will now have the option of a $1,995 panoramic glass roof, which will be available for both V6 and GT models. The panoramic roof is made of tinted privacy glass and features a manual roller blind for breaks from continuous sun.
It filters 90 percent of the sun's infrared waves and 96 percent of UV rays — about the equivalent of wearing SPF 50 sunscreen — and the reflective glass also reduces some of the energy used by the vehicle's air-conditioning unit.
Since its introduction in 2008, 10 percent of all Mustang sales have featured glass roofs, while convertibles make up about 25 percent of the Blue Oval's pony-car sales.
The 2010 Lincoln MKS, 2009 Ford Flex, Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX also have the option of the panoramic glass roof.
