As an internationally active family business, we bear a great responsibility not only towards our customers and employees, but also towards the environment. Our goal is to harmonise social benefits, ecology and economy in the best possible way.
Glass is a natural material: its raw materials, such as quartz sand, soda or dolomite, are available on earth as basic materials and will last for future generations. In the production of flat glass, melting is the most energy-intensive process. That is why we focus on making this process as efficient as possible. With our patented cullet recycling system, we reduce energy consumption and raw material requirements.
We develop forward-looking products that make sense and improve the quality of life. For example, our architectural glass helps to save energy, thereby reducing CO2 emissions and at the same time increasing the feeling of well-being inside the building. Since glass is one of the few materials that is 100% recyclable, we use a high proportion of used glass in new production - in keeping with the "cradle-to-cradle" principle (a closed cycle).
As an important component of the building envelope, window glass with the corresponding thermal insulation and solar control layers today makes a significant contribution to saving energy. With our SILVERSTAR coatings, we also meet the aesthetic demands of contemporary architecture. Energy generation via solar modules in the façade is also becoming increasingly important.
Here, our SWISSPANEL SOLAR brings colour to the otherwise monotonous appearance of solar installations. Using a special process, individually designed image motifs can be printed on the front glass of the modules without significantly affecting their efficiency.
