The flat glass industry is throwing its weight behind FIT Show’s newest event feature, with a number of key brands signing up for Visit Glass in recent weeks.

Dubbed FIT Show’s ‘show within a show’, Visit Glass is brand new for 2019 and will provide a dedicated area for the UK’s rapidly expanding flat glass sector, showcasing both products and machinery.

Leading brands to have signed up for the inaugural event include the likes of HIRD, Bohle, Saint-Gobain and Intermac who have all taken prominent stands on the floor plan.

Intermac marked the first machinery brand to sign up to Visit Glass and has exciting plans for their debut, where they will showcase their latest machinery in float and laminate glass processing.

Visit Glass 2019 visitors will be able to see Intermac’s Genius R-SA cutting table on display, a high performance solution able to handle personalised machining operations and interface with pre- and post-cut automation systems. Visitors can also expect to discover the new IoT software platform, SOPHIA, an innovation in productivity and issue prevention allowing them to generate greater purchase value from the machines.

One of the latest companies to sign up is Lambert GT Services. The Birmingham headquartered company, which specialises in supplying new and used glass machinery, has operated for over 20 years and exhibited at FIT Show every year since it launched in 2013.

On moving the brand over to Visit Glass, Lambert GT Services MD Peter Lambert said: “Events like Visit Glass provide our sector with a platform to showcase the very best that flat glass has to offer.

“With so many key members of the supply chain under one roof across the three days, it was a no brainer for us to exhibit again in 2019. We look forward to meet a variety of old, existing and future customers at the show.”

FIT Show event director, Nickie West added: “The growth potential for the UK flat glass industry is huge and we needed to reflect this in our offering for FIT Show by introducing a dedicated area for brands who operate within the sector.

“The addition of Visit Glass is further demonstration of our commitment to broaden the appeal of FIT Show, developing with our industry and bringing new audiences to the show. We’re very excited about Visit Glass’ debut.”

FIT Show 2019 will take place at the NEC Birmingham from 21st to 23rd May and will feature up to 300 exhibitors from across the window, door, conservatory and glass industry.
