Curved glasses from Wenna Glas in Wellnesshotel Engel Splendid Expansion

Date: 26 February 2016

The “Engel” in the Tannheim Valley in Austria is a spa hotel which has won many awards and which stands for innovation, best service in all areas and is full of tradition.

Despite, or particularly due to its high rankings, regular improvement is part of the daily business for the Mattersberger Zimmermann family. And as a result, the hotel has been extensively extended and renovated this year.

Particularly impressive solutions were achieved here through the use of curved glass panels from the Austrian CLIMAplusSECURIT partner Wenna Glas from Linz.

Complex Glass constructions

The new elements blend harmoniously into the natural surroundings of the hotel, which are defined by the materials stone, wood and glass. A highlight is the new reception area including the Herzerl-Stube and cozy “Lounge-Nests”, which was created by the conversion of the former fire brigade house. An open fireplace and a floor-to-ceiling curved glass wall made of SGG STADIP CONTOUR curved, laminated safety glass, elegantly separates this area from reception. In the middle of the entrance area, above the “Lounge-Nests”, a self-supporting conical dome consisting solely of SGG CLIMAPLUS CONTOUR glass permits heavenly views.
