At China Glass 2019, the new Glaston and Bystronic glass combination will be officially celebrated for the first time. These two world-class companies now offer the glass processing market the best know-how, a wider value-chain portfolio, extended services along with innovative and integrated technologies. And most importantly, the joined forces will bring the industry more passion for glass – and all that glass and glass processing is capable of achieving.
On April 1, 2019, Glaston Corporation acquired the Swiss-German Bystronic glass group, which provides high-end machinery, systems and services for glass processing. This acquisition supports Glaston’s ambition to further strengthen its position in the glass processing value chain. The acquisition comes in response to market demands for increasing efficiency along with more demanding glass feature requirements, safety and quality.
Glaston and Bystronic glass have fully complementary portfolios. Together, the two companies can provide customers with the best know-how and latest technologies available in glass processing. This truly unique offering extends from tempering, bending and laminating, through insulated glass manufacturing and glass handling, to automotive and display glass pre-processing and services.
“With our combined capabilities and expertise, we can offer customers the equipment, services and solutions they need all from one supplier, optimizing their operations and driving customer value,” says Arto Metsänen, President and CEO of Glaston. “Additionally, we can provide increased support and appealing advantages.”
Dr. Burghard Schneider, head of Bystronic glass operations, continues: “With enhanced systems thinking and strengthened R&D capabilities, we will shape the industry towards energy-efficient solutions and digital integration. We are committed to deliver glass processing at its best when it comes to productivity, quality and cost.”
Putting digitalization into practice
As a special launch at this year’s China Glass, Glaston will unveil a new FC Series specifically designed for the Chinese market. Glass samples made with the FC Series and solar glass types made with GlastonAir allow visitors to touch, feel and see – for real – what is possible with the latest technology.
Come and learn how we’ve put digitalization into daily production and what is now possible in heat treatment technology.
Satisfying the toughest warm edge demands
Bystronic glass will showcase its advanced architectural glass TPS® (Thermal Plastic Spacer) technology that provides processors with end products to satisfy the toughest warm edge demands. Insulating glass units made with TPS® improve energy efficiency in buildings, increase durability and reduce energy costs.
Another highlight at the show will be the new sealing robot combi’sealer for automatic IG unit sealing of various glass formats and dimensions.
At China Glass this year, you can experience these both in action.
