AGP eGlass produces the largest ever windshield in the history of a passenger vehicle

There have been various recent announcements of electric vehicles sales numbers for the first quarter of 2017, which all point to a strong growth performance worldwide and confirm the continued adoption of cleaner transportation solutions by consumers.

One good example is the Model X, from the world´s largest electric vehicle manufacturer, which greatly innovated in the SUV segment offering an unparalleled cabin experience through its large panoramic windshield called “Big Sky”.

Its development and production were made possible by AGP’s advanced bending capabilities of up to 4 sqm of glass surfaces.

This is currently the largest and most complex windshield in the automotive market with an approximate size of 3 sqm and features an advanced dual shade zone for improved cabin comfort and safety.

Besides the functional benefits, the Big Sky gives the driver and passengers a «feeling of openness» with a panoramic view that provides an unmatched riding experience.

AGP started manufacturing this windshield from its new state-of-the-art facility in 2015, which includes the capability to produce the largest and most elaborate glass products in the industry by utilizing our “360 Plus™ Technology”.
