Date: 15 April 2014

Faced with a sustained increase in demand for automotive glass, AGC Glass Europe is restarting one of its three Teplice-based float lines* after an extensive upgrade programme lasting 2 years.

The use of the most advanced Group technology makes it one of the most environment friendly facilities of its kind, optimizing energy efficiency and reducing emissions.Furthermore, it allows the plant to meet the very strict quality demands of the automotive industry in terms of optical quality, defects and service.

The new line, which will create around 80 jobs, will serve the Central European automotive market and reinforce AGC’s position as a strategic supplier in the region. First production of glass is expected in the second half of April.

* The Teplice plant has 3 float lines: one dedicated to building applications and two for automotive applications.
