AGC decorative glass gets tougher with new Matelac T

Date: 17 July 2015

AGC has introduced new Matelac T, a toughenable painted glass with a satin finish, to its growing range of decorative glass products.

Developed to satisfy today’s continuing trend towards smooth and matt surfaces, Matelac T complements AGC’s existing Lacobel T colour range to present a whole new spectrum of contemporary design possibilities, while offering the same benefits and properties.Toughenable painted glass with a satin finishMatelac T consists of float glass with an acid-etched surface on one side and covered with high quality paint to be heat-treated on the other, making it the first painted glass with a satin finish that processors can cut and heat-treat at their factory.Once toughened, Matelac T is a true enameled glass that is moisture, scratch, heat and UV resistant.

Available in the same standard range of 15 trendsetting colours as Lacobel T, Matelac T offers architects and interior designers even more creative opportunities to play with contrasts and perspectives, and is an exciting addition to AGC’s already comprehensive decorative glass portfolio.

Strong and safe

Matelac T meets the high safety requirements for both public and private buildings and can be specified with confidence for both interior and exterior architectural applications, from furniture, wall coverings, worktops and glass retail display units through to external façade cladding and spandrels.

Cradle to Cradle Certified Silver

With the addition of MatelacT to AGC’s large Cradle to Cradle Certified Silver products portfolio, which already includes Lacobel, Lacobel T, Matelac, Mirox and Matelux,  architects and designers can benefit from an ever growing choice of environmentally friendly solutions. Using Cradle to Cradle Certified products enables architects, designers and specifiers to improve their projects’ ratings for the international LEED certification.
