Date: 27 May 2015

EYG Commercial is set to install windows, doors, and curtain walling at a new development at an expanding Welsh college.

Coleg y Cymoedd is opening a new Railway Training Centre of Excellence at their Nantgarw The facility will include new classrooms and workshop training facilities to meet the needs of railway engineering training and will be completed by September 2015.

EYG will be installing 19 high-insulated windows, six pairs of doors, and two curtain walling screens at the facility in a contract worth £48,000. In addition, they have also secured the contract for the college’s new Motor Vehicle Training Centre at the college’s Ystrad Mynach campus.

The £2.1 million facility is set to replace the college’s existing facility based at the Rhymney campus, and will train students in motor vehicle repair, which will include maintenance, diagnostics and testing workshops.

Steve Swallow, EYG’s Commercial Director, said: “We look forward to working alongside the main contractor, Interserve Construction Limited, on these two prestigious developments. The two facilities will transform the college’s teaching of vital industries, and it will be a rewarding project to be involved with.”

The fitters will start on site at the end of this month and are expected to complete the works by early July.
