The awards, which are now in their seventh year, recognize local business achievements and developments that have helped to support the local community of Knowsley in Merseyside.
As a leading manufacturer that is recognized for its progressive approach to industry as well as for bringing growth to the local economy, TuffX has been highly praised for its hard earned achievements.
After substantial investments in a new facility earlier this year the company has seen steady growth throughout 2011. During 2010/11 the workforce has doubled at TuffX, which combined with ongoing investment has led to continuing growth and an increase in demand for both new and existing products. This year the categories had been re-evaluated to accommodate the difficulties businesses have overcome during such a tough economic downturn.
Cllr Graham Morgan, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Economy and Skills said: “We have some great success stories in Knowsley’s business community, despite the difficult economic climate over the last 12 months. The Business Awards are an ideal way to recognize the achievements of our businesses and their people. “The awards give business and other organisations, the opportunity to showcase themselves and demonstrate to customers and suppliers across the region, their success. It is also a great way to open doors to new opportunities.”
In addition to this local recognition, Tuffx is delighted by the recent confirmation of its selection as a finalist for “Glass Company of the Year” at the highly prestigious G11 awards to be held in London on November 25th, proving that companies can, with well thought out strategies and clear management, achieve both locally and nationally.
Graham Price, Managing Director said: “The Knowsley Business Awards event is a prestigious one and we are delighted that our accomplishments in the business community have been recognized. It gives a sweet taste to our success being so close to home. We believe it is important to support our local community and to help boost the regional economy and look forward to building further upon this esteemed accolade”
