SunTegra, an advanced Solar Roof manufacturer, has partnered with Murphy Brothers Contracting, a high-end custom home builder serving Westchester and Connecticut, to install the first-ever solar roof in Stamford, Connecticut.

The solar roof system installed on a waterfront home in Stamford, CT consisted of fifty five 105W SunTegra Shingles. The 5.8 kWp SunTegra Shingle solar roof is sized to provide an estimated 6,543 kWh per year and replaced the need for over 400 ft2 of asphalt shingle roofing.

“Murphy Brothers Contracting believes that building green is simply building smart, and when we saw SunTegra solar roof shingles, we thought ‘Brilliant!’,” said Michael Murphy, of Murphy Brothers Contracting.

“We frequently host educational events for architects and design professionals to showcase new innovative products. The event we held at this home received a lot of interest and gave attendees the opportunity to see a solar roof in real time operation!”

“We are excited to add such an experienced and prestigious home-builder, Murphy Brothers Contracting, to the SunTegra Authorized Dealer Network, said Mark Paille, VP of Sales and Marketing at SunTegra.

“We are excited to have completed the first-ever solar roof project in Stamford and are continuing to introduce our SunTegra Shingle and SunTegra Tile to new partners and cities across the country.”

The SunTegra Solar Shingles attach directly to the roof and integrate with the surrounding asphalt shingle roofing through an intermediary flashing. The solar roof system functions as both a solar panel and a roofing material.
