Stay cool and conserve energy: retrofit glass cover solutions for commercial refrigeration from a single source

Date: 22 July 2013

Efficient refrigeration: SCHOTT to cooperate with BEHR A/S to offer one-stop-shop solution to its customers.         SCHOTT AG will now be offering its customers retrofit cover solutions for vertical as well as horizontal commercial refrigeration systems.

To this end, the company is extending its line of Termofrost® brand glass doors to include the KEEP COOL® product line from the Danish manufacturer BEHR A/S that also includes sliding glass covers for horizontal refrigeration units. Both companies have entered into a European sales partnership in that respect.

Subsequently equipping open refrigerators and freezers with doors or covers is commonly referred to as retrofitting. Measures like these help retailers and wholesalers to improve their energy efficiency considerably and thus lower their total cost of ownership.

Sliding glass covers for horizontal refrigeration units: SCHOTT includes KEEP COOL® product line from the Danish manufacturer BEHR A/S in its portfolio.

“By way of this sales partnership we can provide our customers a one-stop-shop offering for both vertical and horizontal glass covers,” explains Christian Köhler, Vice President of SCHOTT Food Display. “The two companies’ product lines complement each other extremely well. Also, in terms of design and quality aspects BEHR’s KEEP COOL® solutions perfectly fit to our requirements and brand appearance” he adds.

Peter Behr, Managing Director at BEHR A/S, is also excited about this collaboration: “This partnership will allow us to benefit from the strong pan-European sales network SCHOTT AG has established over the years as a well-known manufacturer of high-quality glass solutions.”
