We are proud to announce that Simon Slade, the principal technologist at NSG Group's European Technical Centre, has been awarded a prestigious ICG Turner prize – the first Britain to win the award in ten years.

This prize is given to those who have made a noteworthy contribution to the technical committees of the International Commission on Glass. After the annual award ceremony Simon commented:

“I am pleased that my contribution to ICG has been so well appreciated, I am proud to receive this illustrious award.

Steve Tickle, Resource Group Head, congratulates Simon on his award

Working on Float and Rolled Glass Technologies at the Lathom Pilkington site, he has been the secretary of TC13 – the environment committee of ICG – for twenty years. Realising the importance of his work he adds:

“Being actively involved in TC13 has been very useful for the company and an important part of my job over many years.”

Once again, we would like to congratulate Simon on receiving this award and hope that his success continues.
