LiSEC is pleased to announce that the company has received the bronze medal from EcoVadis for outstanding sustainability performance.

This award is a significant milestone on the road to greater sustainability and underlines LiSEC's commitment to the environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

EcoVadis – benchmark for sustainability in companies

EcoVadis is a globally recognised platform that assesses companies in terms of their sustainability performance. Since its foundation in 2007, EcoVadis has become one of the leading providers of sustainability ratings and has built up a global network with over 150,000 rated companies from more than 175 countries and 200 industries.

The assessment is based on internationally recognised standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the UN Global Compact and the ISO 26000 standard for social responsibility. Companies are evaluated on the basis of 21 sustainability criteria from four main areas:

  • Environment (e.g. energy consumption, emissions management, waste and resource management)
  • Labour and human rights (e.g. working conditions, diversity, occupational health and safety)
  • Ethics (e.g. corruption prevention, fair business practices, data protection)
  • Sustainable procurement (e.g. responsible supply chains, compliance of suppliers with social and environmental standards)

Companies that participate in the EcoVadis assessment receive a detailed scorecard that not only highlights their strengths but also provides specific recommendations for improving their sustainability performance.

Significant progress in sustainability assessment

In the last two years, LiSEC has improved its score from 31 to 67 out of a possible 100 points, thus receiving the bronze medal, which underlines LiSEC's commitment to sustainability. The bronze medal is awarded to companies that are among the top 35% of all organisations evaluated. This puts LiSEC in the advanced range in the ‘manufacture of specialised machinery’ category. This award is an indicator of the positive intentions and efforts to continuously improve sustainability management at LiSEC.

Success through joint commitment

However, this award is also the result of a great team effort. The LiSEC Sustainability Team and the specialist departments have worked hard to meet the requirements and thus improve sustainability performance, which ultimately led to this excellent result for LiSEC.

Outlook and continuous improvement

The EcoVadis bronze medal award is an incentive for LiSEC to consistently pursue the path it has taken. The company views this recognition as an endorsement of its sustainability strategy to date and as motivation to continue to push ahead with future measures to improve environmental, social and governance performance. LiSEC remains committed to continuously optimising its sustainability management and making a positive contribution to the environment and society.
