Schedule Highlights
The Workshop will take place on Tuesday, August 14 from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and will consist of six 45-minute presentations on current and emerging window products and systems in the topic areas listed below:
- Natural Threats: wind, hurricane/tornado, seismic and fire
- Man-made Threats: blast, ballistics, forced entry and electronic
The Training will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, August 15-16 from 8:00 am 5:00 pm and is a continuation of Protection Engineering Consultants' past Blast Resistant Window Design training classes.
This training will address design criteria and standards, computation of threats, overview of design methods, and window system design including glazing, mullions and connections, and retrofits.
Design methods will cover static analysis, dynamic analysis and testing, including an introduction to SBEDS-W and advanced analysis methods. Problem sessions will allow for hands-on design examples using provided computers.
Networking events will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday nights to promote further discussions on topics discussed each day.
