Exceptionally clear and smooth to the touch, RIVULETTA® low-iron glass with thin flutes is ideal for a variety of design applications where semi-privacy is desired.
“Glass has become a mainstay in the modern home and office, opening up space, drawing in natural light, and offering a contemporary minimalist design,” said Donald Press, General Manager, Architecture and Design at SCHOTT North America. “RIVULETTA ® glass, with its fluting that evokes images of flowing water, further enhances interior design capabilities. This unique glass creates a distinctive complement to conference room windows, office doors, and room partitions.”
RIVULETTA® glass is the culmination of two ongoing design trends: low-iron glass that offers clarity and semi-transparent glass that offers a sense of privacy. RIVULETTA® glass is an ultra-clear optical glass that is fire polished on both sides, a process that also seals the pores of the glass to protect it from chemicals and stains. For semi-privacy, RIVULETTA® glass features intrinsic 6-millimeter flutes on one side that allow light into the room, but slightly obscure the view through the glass.
Optically colorless and clear, RIVULETTA® glass can also be laminated and tempered so that it qualifies as safety glass, introducing a number of architectural possibilities.
