Saint-Gobain Glass Launches Energy Efficient Glass PLANITHERM ONE T

Date: 6 August 2014

After leading the market with the UK’s first temperable low-E glass to achieve a U-value of 1.0 W/m2K, Saint-Gobain Glass has re-launched its PLANITHERM ONE and PLANITHERM ONE II as a single-stock product known as PLANITHERM ONE T.

Boasting an excellent optimum centre-pane U-value in a double-glazed unit of just 1.0W/m2K, going as low as 0.5 W/m2K for triple-glazed units, the coating offers an optimised balance of very high thermal performance and solar gain.Making stock holdings easier for customers, PLANITHERM ONE T can be used either annealed or toughened and significantly improves the whole window U-values for all frame types, helping specifiers to confidently meet and exceed Building Regulations requirements. The product is particularly suited to both residential new-build and commercial renovation sectors, offering an excellent contribution to whole building energy efficiency levels (TER).

PLANITHERM ONE T is also very environmentally friendly given the lower CO2 emissions associated with reduced energy consumption, it helps to considerably cut heating bills, and with a neutral appearance in both transmission and reflection it maximizes the entry of natural daylight. Produced in the UK, the product is backed by the ever-increasing environmental credentials of Saint-Gobain Glass UK, which include up to 30% recycled content of glass, BES 6001 responsible sourcing and ISO 14001 accreditations.

“Thanks to the ongoing investment in research and development at Saint-Gobain Glass, the PLANITHERM range of products is the most extensive low-E family of glass products on the market today,” Susan Lambeth, Saint-Gobain Glass’ Marketing Manager explained. “SGG PLANITHERM ONE T is the perfect addition to that family and offers versatile solutions for clients looking to create comfortable interiors and to excellent thermal efficiency.”
