Production Under Way at New Mexicali Plant

The new plant at Mexicali started partial production in December 2011 and will move to full plant load by May 2012.

The $16 million investment will boost production at the site to a total of 2.5m windshields per year, serving both the Automotive AGR and the Automotive OE market.The new 9,600 square meter facility is located just 50 meters from the main plant in an existing building which has been completely refurbished to take an integrated pre-process and printing line with automatic loading, two box furnaces, PVB preparation, assembly, autoclave and final inspection lines.The plant will produce the full range of laminated windscreen products, including the Group's patented suite of optimized solar absorbing automotive glasses such as EZ-Kool®.The new plant at Mexicali started partial production in December 2011 and will move to full plant load by May 2012.
