Today's automobiles feature electronic systems that keep us comfortable, safe and connected. CPFilms, the world's largest manufacturer of window film and a business unit of Solutia Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SOLUQ), has introduced a new high-performance window film -- LLumar(R) Axcess(TM) -- that meets the demands of those who use their cars as mobile communications centers.

This is because LLumar Axcess offers strong UV and heat protection, while alleviating the electronic signal interruptions caused by traditional metallic or ceramic window films.

After traditional window films are installed in a vehicle, certain electronic systems may not function properly, impacting features such as GPS navigation, AM radio, keyless entry, remote start, and tire pressure sensors. In fact, several automobile owners' manuals caution against the installation of aftermarket window films for this reason, including the 2006 Buick Lacrosse and the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban. However, LLumar Axcess utilizes a patent-pending, hybrid technology that creates superior performance without causing signal interference.

"LLumar Axcess is a significant step forward in window film technology," said Kent Davies, president of Solutia's CPFilms business, the manufacturer of LLumar window film. "Traditional metallic and ceramic films create a virtual roadblock for the car enthusiast's favorite electronic components. The new technology in LLumar Axcess provides the benefits of high performance window film without sacrificing connectivity or risking signal interruption."

American culture is uniquely connected to the automobile, and our cars keep us connected to the world around us. It was bumper stickers in the '40s, CBs in the '70s, and car phones in the '80s. However, today's Bluetooth devices, satellite radio and tire pressure monitoring systems rely upon a strong electronic signal to function properly.

According to popular culture expert Dr. Michael Marsden, "Automobiles have experienced tremendous growth over the past decades as mobile communications centers. The vast majority of new cars feature at least some of the electronic upgrades desired by consumers to make their cars not only more comfortable, but more connected. One way to protect these investments is to protect the interior with window film."

In addition to alleviating signal disruptions, LLumar Axcess provides the benefits of traditional high-performance window films including glare reduction up to 90 percent and heat rejection up to 55 percent. The film is available in a variety of light transmissions, and comes with a factory-backed warranty.
