National Windscreens excels in Scotland!

Date: 15 March 2013

Following a rigorous tender process, National Windscreens has secured a contract to provide replacement glass as part of Scotland Excel’s national framework for vehicle spare parts.

Scotland Excel is the Centre of Procurement Expertise for the local government sector in Scotland, and develops collaborative contracts which can be used by the 32 Scottish local authorities.

Grant Montgomery, Senior Procurement Specialist at Scotland Excel says, “National Windscreens is one of four successful bidders for the replacement glass lot of the vehicle spare part framework.  Our collaborative frameworks are used by councils to purchase goods and services across a wide range of common requirements. Tenders are evaluated on a number of criteria – including price, service delivery and sustainability – to ensure frameworks provide best value to local authority customers.”

National Windscreens operates the largest UK branch network in its field – branches in eight Scottish cities and 41 mobile technicians provide a fast, efficient service across Scotland and its outlying islands.  National Windscreens has a proven track record of working closely with large organisations to support their daily operations. The independently owned company is also the preferred supplier of the National Policing Improvement Authority (NPIA), now novated to the Home Office as part of the phasing out of the NPIA, as well as a number of major insurance providers and fleet operators.

Andy Rae, Operations Director at National Windscreens, Glasgow, says, “National Windscreens is delighted to have been awarded a place on Scotland Excel’s vehicle spare parts framework to provide replacement glass. We have significant experience of working with high-profile organisations that demand an unwavering professional service at all times. We work closely with all of our corporate clients to ensure our systems and processes meet their ongoing requirements and run as smoothly as possible – freeing them to concentrate on delivering their services.”
