NGA announced that it relaunched the World of Glass Map on glass.org, featuring glass manufacturing and fabrication locations. The Association plans to add glass recycling locations in the coming months.

NGA is pleased to announce that it relaunched the World of Glass Map on glass.org. This newly updated, more accessible version of the map is interactive and provides information about global float glass manufacturing locations and North American glass fabrication facilities. Website visitors will be able to view locations and capabilities, as well as search and sort companies by name and location.

“As the trade association representing the entire glass and glazing industry supply chain, NGA strives to provide information and resources covering the full world of glass for its members and the industry,” said Nicole Harris, NGA president and CEO. “World of Glass Map and the accompanying downloadable database are vital for understanding the vast capacity and capability of glass manufacturers and fabricators. Plus, NGA is working to add glass recycling locations, which will help move NGA forward on its priority issue to keep glass out of the landfill.”

Recycling locations data will be available on the World of Glass Map in October and will join NGA’s many other resources, created in collaboration with the industry, that detail the infinite possibilities and recyclability of architectural glass.

While the interest in architectural glass recycling has been growing due to increasingly stringent material transparency standards, actual information on the companies that offer recycling services can be difficult to find. NGA is looking to ease that difficulty with this new resource.

“Glass recycling is becoming a much more important tool for all glass companies to use as we drive towards a more sustainable and circular economy,” says Kyle Sword, business development manager, Pilkington North America, NGA Board of Directors member and NGA Recycling task group Chair. “The NGA is beefing up the tools like the technical papers and the glass map as member resources. The educational information and content are another benefit that helps those members that want to further their recycling efforts and is a great example of how the NGA is enabling change in the industry.”
