Leading UK Based Shower Enclosure Manufacturer Lakes Bathrooms Expands to North America with Offer of DFI Easy-to-Clean Coating as a Standard Feature

Date: 7 September 2015

DFI producer of advanced surface coatings, announced today that Lakes Bathrooms Limited (Lakes) is expanding to North America.

Lakes is a well-established, privately-owned UK company headquartered in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire,  that manufactures a wide range of bath tub and walk-in shower enclosures for UK, European and Australian markets. The company has enjoyed steady growth through continual product innovation and delivery of exceptional customer service. Lakes was the first manufacturer in the UK to offer a protective surface treatment as a standard feature across its entire product line and the company is now bringing this benefit to North America.

The protective surface treatment known as AllClear® uses DFI's advanced surface technology to effectively self-clean the glass, repelling water, lime scale and soap scum.  No harsh chemical cleaners are necessary to clean the shower enclosures, just a quick wipe is all that is needed to keep the shower looking pristine and new.  Since this is a standard feature, Lakes Bathrooms emphasizes that there is no extra cost for the AllClear® coating.

Another new feature offered by Lakes is the inclusion of built in mirrors on some of its enclosures. Unlike regular mirrors, the glass is reflective on both sides and permits a small amount of light to pass through.

"We take pride in producing high quality shower enclosures, with innovations such as built-in mirrors and the AllClear® protective coating as standard", commented Andrew Kirkwood, CEO of Lakes Bathrooms LLC. "We are excited to bring our European designs to North America and are confident they will fill a gap in the current North American shower enclosure offering".

"We are excited for this new venture for Lakes Bathrooms and are confident that they will be very successful in North America, especially with these standard features. Both the mirrors and AllClear® coating allow Lakes to create a unique position in the market and is proof that Lakes is continually striving to create quality products. We are excited for what's to come", according to Guillermo Seta, Sr. VP of Global Business Development.
