In this video, Greg Clarke, process engineer at Pilkington United Kingdom Limited, talks us through the process that takes place at our state-of-the-art off-line coater in St.Helens, UK; from how the coatings are created during the sputtering process to how they’re used in core products such as Pilkington K Glass™ S, as well as more complex solar control glass such as Pilkington Suncool™.
Since it was commissioned in 2012, the coater has produced over 10 million square meters of glass since start up. A variety of coated glass products are made for markets across the world designed to improve energy efficiency for both commercial and residential applications.
