New atmosfire® Dry Wiper from SCHOTT for unsoiled fireplace viewing panelsPicture ID 143643: SCHOTT now offers ROBAX® customers an effective and safe cleaning product for their fireplace viewing panels with its newly developed dry cleaner.

The international technology group’s SCHOTT ROBAX® product division has developed a new dry cleaner for fireplace viewing panels made of the transparent glass- ceramic ROBAX®. The company will be unveiling the atmosfire® Dry Wiper for the first time ever at the Progetto Fuoco trade fair in Verona.

SCHOTT now offers its ROBAX® customers an effective and safe cleaning product with its newly developed Dry Wiper. The convenient cleaning helper has two sides. One side features a special active surface; the other a slip-proof holding surface. The active side is actually used to clean the fireplace viewing panel and requires no water or cleaning agents.

Unlike liquid detergents, no chemicals can drip down into the fireplace door and damage the seal. Because there is no need to wait for anything to soak in or wipe off the panels with water, cleaning takes a lot less time. Cleaning the fireplace viewing panel does not cause any scratches either because the material used on the active surface is not nearly as hard as the glass-ceramic.

“Fireplaces with viewing panels are becoming ever more popular. But, no matter how pleasant a crackling fireplace in the living room is, we know from our consumer research studies that consumers would like to be able to clean their viewing panels as easily and comfortably as possible,” explains Tobias Weiss, who is responsible for product management at SCHOTT ROBAX®. So far, the reality has been quite different. Fireplace owners have had to use “tons” of disposable cloths, wait for cleaning agents to soak in and put up with disturbing striae on their panels during time-consuming, often disappointing cleaning procedures that are not very environmentally friendly either.

SCHOTT has developed the atmosfire® Dry Wiper especially for fireplace viewing panels made of ROBAX® glass-ceramic. Fireplace manufacturers can order this dry cleaning product on pallets directly from SCHOTT AG. Specialized fireplace dealers can purchase it starting with two boxes, in other words 28 dry cleaners, from Mennes GmbH. You’ll find more information under www.myatmosfire.com.
