On Friday, 28th August 2015, the company celebrated the opening of the new Plant 3 with a barbecue attended by the workforce of almost 500 as well as the tradespeople who worked on the alteration.
45,000 m2 plot of land directly adjacentSomewhat unexpectedly, an opportunity for HEGLA to acquire a 45,000 m2 plot of land directly adjacent along with several production halls presented itself in the fourth quarter of 2014.
Following short and intensive investigations, the HEGLA management decided to purchase the site. Managing Director Bernhard Hötger regards the expansion as an important step.
''The additional production capacities will enable us to further optimise our internal processes and procedures, thereby aligning the HEGLA Group and our facility in Beverungen with future market requirements and strengthening them in the long term", says Bernhard Hötger.
The acquisition of the site and the halls was completed at the end of 2014. Extensive renovation and restoration work commenced in February.
Added production to July 2015
And by early July, the RAPIDLINE product line, a cutting line for flat glass specially developed for export, was started at the newly christened HEGLA Plant 3. Since then, more than 10 cutting lines have been manufactured in the new plant and delivered to HEGLA customers worldwide.

The HEGLA Group was founded in 1976 and operates three production and distribution facilities in Germany along with numerous sales offices and commercial agencies abroad. Our product portfolio consists primarily of machinery and systems for handling, cutting, and sorting flat glass for use in the high-rise construction, automotive, and solar industries.
