With its staff of 90, HEGLA Maschinenbau is one of the biggest employers in the Burgenlandkreis district of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, and is, accordingly, very important for the region.

The company’s status is even more clear in the market. The solutions manufactured in Kretzschau are applied in the glass processing industry worldwide and customers really value their quality and innovation.

From local supplier to specialist

Established as a local business in Kretzschau in 1990, HEGLA has since grown to become a supplier for the global market. The focus was initially on vehicle attachments, transport frames and supplier products for the main facility in Beverungen, Germany (North Rhine-Westphalia). Now the company specialises in the manual and automated storage of large panes, long-length storage systems and vacuum lifters for glass. In 2020, the company began selling the vacuum lifters produced here under its own name again. To further strengthen the business unit, the sales team was also expanded.

Milestone: Production of high-tech products in the new HEGLA building

Two years ago, the company invested in additional production area by adding a new production hall. The company uses the new capacity for developing and producing its own products, as well as for assembling the systems of HEGLA boraident from Halle, the laser applications specialist. The new hall is a major milestone for HEGLA Maschinenbau, as it prepares the company for further growth. “HEGLA in Kretzschau impresses customers with high quality and specialist know-how, and the company is rewarded for this with sustainable success,” explains Bernhard Hötger. “We see ourselves as a strong employer in the Burgenlandkreis district, and our success, innovative power and expertise are all down to our local employees.”

The storage capacity of the existing space will be increased by up to 50 percent with the automated long-length storage system “made in Kretzschau”. Automatic picking and removal of the profile elements is carried out on a pallet-by-pallet basis.
