He went on to become a store manager in Wichita and then market manager in Minneapolis, Minn.
After 18 years with Safelite, he left to join Harmon Auto Glass as district manager in Kansas City, where he managed 14 stores from South Dakota to Arkansas. Dotson joined Glass Doctor in 2003, working with new franchisees. Most recently, Dotson acted as Vice President of Franchise Relations and Training for the company.
“I’ve seen Doug in action; how his projects have changed the face of business and profits for us,” Glass Doctor President Mark Liston said. “With his new position, those efforts will be magnified!”
Dotson is replacing Michael Gai, who has recently accepted a position as Vice President of System Accounts for The Dwyer Group, Inc.
“I’ve seen what a successful system sales program can do for a company,” Liston said. “I know Mike is the right person for The Dwyer Group position. We will miss him but our franchisees will reap great rewards because of this move.”
Before working at Glass Doctor corporate in Waco, Texas, Gai owned the Glass Doctor of King & Pierce Counties franchise, the flagship shop in Seattle, Wash., for seven years. Prior to that, Gai was President and CEO of A Sport, Inc., a cross-seasonal sporting goods company manufacturer and distributor.
“Michael and I accepting new positions is an example of our company’s continued growth,” Dotson said. “Our success will help franchisees succeed and achieve their goals.”
Wendy Callan will take over the Glass Doctor System Accounts department, as System Accounts Manager. Callan has been assisting Michael Gai in the department since February. She will work with the new System Accounts Assistant, Katie Schulze.
“Wendy is a true professional that truly strives to understand and appreciate Glass Doctor System Account’s needs in every situation,” Gai said. “The Glass Doctor System Accounts program is enjoying rapid growth while continuously improving its capabilities and processes, and under Wendy’s direction, the program is in great hands.”
Congratulations to Doug, Mike and Wendy!
