The Fairmount Park Conservancy recognized John Crowe, president and CEO of Saint-Gobain and CertainTeed Corporations, with the Centennial Award for Corporate Stewardship at the 8th Annual Centennial Celebration on May 5 at the Horticulture Center. Each year, the award is presented to an honoree from a corporation in the Greater Philadelphia Region that has demonstrated leadership in support of the Fairmount Park Conversancy, as well as philanthropic and civic leadership in the community. Saint-Gobain was recognized for its support of the park systems and efforts to bring innovative programming to the City of Philadelphia.

As one of the Premier Sponsors of The Oval's 2015 summer season, Saint-Gobain has made a significant investment to support programming that transforms this location on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway into a hip urban oasis of themed activities, education and entertainment. Saint-Gobain will kick off the summer season and commemorate its 350th anniversary with a never-before-seen global exhibition, "Future Sensations," which will make its only U.S. tour stop at The Oval from May 30 – June 6, 2015. "Philadelphia is a world-class city, and our parks play an important role in continuing to move our region forward," said John Crowe, President and CEO of Saint-Gobain and CertainTeed Corporations. "When we invest in our parks, we make our communities healthier and more sustainable, and that is what Saint-Gobain has been committed to for the last 350 years."

This year's Centennial Celebration honored prominent individuals from across the region who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership and support of the park system. Saint-Gobain was the Premier Centennial Celebration Partner of the event.

"Partnerships with community-minded companies like Saint-Gobain provides us with the support needed to make Philadelphia a better place to live, work and play," said Kathryn Ott Lovell, Executive Director of the Fairmount Park Conservancy.
