* SCHOTT ASI double-glass module now with even greater performance stability and longer life * New high performer available from February The new addition to the SCHOTT Solar product family is doubly good – in every sense of the term: Thanks to its tried-and-tested thin film technology and its sturdy double-glass construction, this module is a high performer with a long life, generating high solar returns even in conditions of diffuse sunlight and a non-optimum roof orientation.

The double glass makes the module even more resistant to environmental influences of any kind. The new photovoltaic module will be available to buy from February.

The improved SCHOTT ASI double-glass module is a further development of the company’s existing glass-foil module, utilising the tried-and-tested double-glass technology developed and optimised at SCHOTT Solar’s Jena and Alzenau sites. Its double-glass construction means the module is even more resistant to environmental influences of any kind. This makes it an ideal product for agricultural applications, where aggressive air pollutants such as ammonia vapours are a significant issue – a fact confirmed by the seal of quality for ammonia resistance issued by the German Agricultural Society (DLG).

The SCHOTT ASI double-glass module can be used universally – for both roof and ground-mounted applications. Additionally, this all-rounder generates high solar returns even where sunlight is diffuse, in warm or badly ventilated locations or where roof orientation is less than ideal. And there are still more benefits: The module is a very economical option thanks to its low price per square metre and watt-peak, while its refined relay system allows it to be used for higher performance classes, up to 107 W. The new SCHOTT ASI double-glass module is fitted with two single-phase junction boxes and an LC4 plug connector made by Lumberg. SCHOTT Solar’s commitment to reducing the presence of harmful substances in the environment is reflected in SCHOTT ASI modules’ compliance with the European RoHS directive (Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances), which restricts the use of particular hazardous substances in electric and electronic devices and the use of dangerous substances in devices and component parts generally.

SCHOTT ASI double-glass modules carry a 30-year linear performance guarantee, meaning solar system operators can trust in them to generate high returns. SCHOTT ASI modules are certified by TÜV Rheinland (German Technical Inspection Authority Rhineland) as conforming to IEC 61646 ed. 2 and IEC 61730, electrical protection class II and the CE standards.
