At the annual Dell-Winston School Solar Car Challenge in Texas, the largest solar race of its kind in the U.S.A., the Sundancer team from Houston, Mississippi, was victorious for the sixth time in a row.
With peak speeds of just under 100 km/h, the five meter long solar- powered car left all of the competitors behind as it drove 413 loops, covering almost 1,000 kilometers during the four-day race. 856 new solar cells from SCHOTT were one main reason for the repeated success. Since 2001, when »Sundancer« first decided to use solar cells from SCHOTT, it has won every race.
