Crystal Windows & Door Systems adds SageGlass to its portfolio of eco-friendly window systems

Date: 14 November 2012

Crystal Windows & Door Systems, an award-winning national manufacturer, has partnered with SAGE to offer SageGlass® to its architectural and commercial building customers.

Crystal will integrate SageGlass dynamic glass into its energy efficient and Energy Star®-certified portfolio of made-to-order aluminum and vinyl window systems. The company will also market and sell the window solutions through regional sales offices and its nationwide network of authorized dealers and installers.

SageGlass is electronically tintable dynamic glass for windows, skylights and curtain walls that tints or clears to modulate light, heat gain and glare. Rather than using conventional sun controls such as motorized window shades, blinds and louvers that tend to block sunlight and views, SageGlass provides a solution that enhances occupant comfort and enables unobstructed views of the outdoors.

“We are experiencing growing demand to offer electrochromic dynamic glass as part of our product portfolio because the technology is uniquely effective in optimizing daylight and is cost competitive with traditional sun controls in hundreds of sustainable green building projects,” said Steve Chen, executive vice president at Crystal. “And it’s not just about improving energy efficiency. The benefits of natural light and preserving views to the outdoors have been cited in architectural case studies ranging from healthcare to worker productivity. SageGlass was our first choice in bringing this important new glazing technology to our customers.”

Crystal will offer SageGlass in a variety of window configurations for renovation and new construction projects. The company is a vertically integrated manufacturer, extruding its own aluminum or virgin PVC vinyl for its manufacturing facilities in the U.S. Crystal products are distributed in more than 35 states.

“We are excited to be able to team with such a dynamic company. Crystal Windows has been providing quality products to their customers for over 20 years, and their track record of growth speaks to their dedication to the industry and customer service. Crystal’s focus on energy-efficient systems makes the relationship with SAGE a natural fit,” said Andrew Hulse, SAGE’s vice president, sales and business development.
