Chemetall, a leading surface treatment supplier and global business unit of BASF’s Coatings division, expanded its Aluminum Competence Center in Hamm, Germany. New state-of-the-art facilities strengthen Chemetall’s position as global supplier of products for the Aluminum Finishing industry.

“After acquiring the anodizing business of CHEMAL in 2015, this extension of the Competence Center and investment in ultra-modern technology further supports our global presence in this key industry,” says Martin Ings, Global Segment Manager Aluminum Finishing.

The Hamm site is fully dedicated to research and development projects and plays a key role in the growth of Chemetall’s global Aluminum Finishing business.

“Aluminum continues to expand in applications and has become one of the most widely used metals worldwide,” says Martin Ings. “The industry faces an increasing amount of aluminum substrates – and we are positioned to serve the market needs with our Competence Center in Hamm, our technical services, and our strong global network.”

Chemetall is one of the few players globally positioned with a comprehensive product range of advanced pretreatment and anodizing technologies for the Aluminum Finishing industry.

The Chemetall Aluminum Competence Center serves not only the architectural and construction industries, but also the aerosol and beverage cans fabricators. The lab equipment in Hamm meets the quality requirements for the Aluminum Finishing industry, such as GSB or Qualicoat.
