BV Glas appoints new president

The Federal Association of the Glass Industry (BV Glas) is the representative body in Germany for the glass industry, including flat, container, fibre and special glasses.  It has recently appointed the CEO of Schott, Dr.

Frank Heinricht, as its president. Its new Vice-Presidents are Stefan Jaenecke, CEO of Verallia North Europe, and Dr. Christian Quenett, CEO of Pilkington Germany. Dr. Hubertus Müller-Stauch, managing partner of Müller + Müller-Joh and Dr. Dieter Simon, Managing Director of Auer Lighting will continue to work as Vice-Presidents for two further years.

Dr. Frank Heinricht said: “The energy and environmental challenges are a major issue for the glass industry. We must not slacken our efforts to provide information about the production processes in glass production and to create an awareness of technical feasibility. Finally, glass is the basic material for many products that contribute to achieving climate protection targets."
