Belron buys Canadian auto-glass replacement business of rival Autostock

The owner of Standard AutoGlass and other vehicle glass repair companies has agreed to buy the Canadian glass operations of Autostock International, which operates Speedy Glass and Apple Auto Glass.

The proposed deal, announced Thursday by Belron Canada Inc., will combine two national players in the auto glass sector.

Belron, a subsidiary of Belron SA, has 230 service centres and 32 distribution facilities across all 10 provinces. In addition to Standard AutoGlass, it operates under the names Lebeau Vitres d'autos and DURO vitres d'autos.

Autostock International has 260 service centres and 33 distribution facilities in Canada, with 1,100 employees operating in all provinces except Prince Edward Island.

In addition to Apple and Speedy, Autostock operates as Novus Repair and Replacement.

Terms were not disclosed by the privately held companies.
