Prosperous International Trade of Chinese Glass Products Encourages All in Glass to Help Local Players Explore ASEAN Market

On November 4th in 2002, The Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Economic Co-operation between the People’s Republic of China and the Association of South East Asian nations (“the Framework Agreement”) was co-signed by the leaders of China and the ten countries of ASEAN.As to this Agreement, by 2010, China and the old members of ASEAN, i.e., Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand, shall establish free trade area (CAFTA).In 2009, the tariff rates for Chinese glass products have been reduced by ASEAN . By 2010, the tariff rates of most products and non-tariff measures of China and ASEAN would be realized, and the trade of the two parties would be liberalized. At present, Singapore has implemented non-tariff measure to Chinese glass and its relevant products. The tariffs of Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia for Chinese glass and its relevant products have been reduced to 5%, or even zero in 2009. Those measures would bring mutual benefit to China and ASEAN, and make positive contribution to the stability and development of Asian economy and the world economy. Messe Düsseldorf China Ltd, one of the organizers of All in Glass 2009, will positively promote the exhibition by leveraging its power ASEAN sales network to provide the platform for trade players in ASEAN to know about the latest products and technologies in China. Meanwhile, the organizer will also organize trade visitors by associations in ASEAN to visit exhibition and participate the concurrent forums.
