SCHOTT Solar will be establishing a new photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing site in the United States increasing its photovoltaic capacities by more than 60 megawatts.

It will be designed to produce both PV solar electricity modules and, if the market develops as anticipated, receivers for solar thermal power plants. The plant is scheduled to become operational in 2009. It will complement the existing production site in Billerica, Massachusetts, which has a capacity of 15 megawatts and manufactures the SCHOTT ASE-300 Watt PV module, one of the largest standard modules available on the market today.
