Advanced Energy® Showcases Technologies for Thermal Processing at Heat Treat 2015

Date: 23 October 2015

Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: AEIS), the world leader in precision power conversion, will present its technologies for thermal processing at the annual Heat Treat 2015, October 20 – 22, in Detroit.

Sponsored by the ASM Heat Treating Society, the world's premier membership society dedicated to the advancement of heat treating, the conference and exhibition highlights advancements in heat processes and applications, vacuum technologies, and more.Advanced Energy (AE) will spotlight its Thyro product line of SCR power controllers that provide proven solutions for electrical heating, melting, drying and forming for glass, hard coatings, display technologies, IR drying and an array of other applications.

The Thyro-Family of digital power controllers regulates temperature with exacting precision, controlling the flow of electricity from the grid to a heater—which, in turn, increases productivity, yield, and throughput in electric heat applications. The high-accuracy, high-reliability products feature integrated and compact designs, as well as flexible configurations and generous options, including seven different field bus communication protocols. Inherent efficiency makes these power controllers especially attractive with extremely low power losses and a high power factor.

“We continue to power innovation in every part of our business, and our sophisticated technologies for thermal processing offer precision temperature measurement and advanced control for industrial heat applications,” said Yuval Wasserman, president and CEO of Advanced Energy. “Our customers know that they can rely on us for thermal application expertise, and we continue to raise the bar on performance, ease of use, and quality to improve process results and lower total cost of ownership.”

Advanced Energy’s product showcase will include:

  • Thyro-Family of thyristor power controllers—ranging from 24 V to 690 V and 8 A to 2900 A—with innovative operating concepts, touch displays, bus communications and more

  • OR4000 optical fiber thermometers (OFTs) with real-time emissivity measurement and compensation

  • OR400M optical pyrometers for advanced thermal measurement and control

The Heat Treat exhibition will take place at Detroit’s Cobo Convention Center, October 21-22.
