Vitro is recognized as a Clean Industry

V. received by the Procuraduría Federal de Protección al Ambiente (PROFEPA for its acronym in Spanish) the Clean Industry recertification.

To obtain this certification the company had to undergo a thorough review of its environmental practices and safety procedures, in order to check the degree of compliance with current environmental legislation.

The audit office took into account; the efficiency of the facilities and devices that influence the care of the environment and measures to reduce environmental damage and the response of the staff in the event of an accident, among other guidelines.

"By obtaining this certification Vitro demonstrates its promotion of sustainable consciousness and of an environmental culture within and outside its workplaces, which aim to raise awareness among employees and the community about the importance of continuous improvement, prevention of pollution and compliance with applicable environmental legislation throughout our operation, " said Baldomero Gardea, Director of Vitro Automotriz.

For over a decade, through its Environmental Management System, Vitro Automotriz has contributed to the reduction of pollutant particles in the central zone, the Mexican valley.This work is evidence of the results of the sustainable strategy of The Glass Company and its commitment to the communities where it has operational presence.

This certification adds to other awards in strengthen the Vitro Model of Sustainability and demonstrate concrete results attach to the values ​​of integrity and operational excellence within the Vitro philosophy.
