Pavia is made by applying an acid treatment to one or both surfaces of the glass resulting in a smooth surface that is translucent with a slight degree of opacity.
The acid application to the Pavia glass can be uniform or based on a desired design which offers the possibility of different finishes. The windows are available in seven different color tones and thicknesses that start at 6mm and go up to 19mm.
“It is ideal for interiors and exteriors, space dividers, counter tops, doors, windows and shelves, among others. This product offers elegance in the spaces where used. In addition it is easy to clean, due to its low adherence coefficient”, explains William Ernesto Rocha from Vitro Colombia.
Duovent is obtained by the joining of two sheets of glass separated by a chamber of natural air or argon gas and hermetically sealed, thus offering a range of combinations that can be tailored to the specific needs of the client.
“Thanks to this specialized system it is possible to save up to 70 per cent in energy, control the negative impact of solar energy, improve acoustics and safety to achieve maximum comfort in the spaces where used”, explains Javier de la Garza, from Flat Glass.
Both products were well received in the event which was organized by the International Business and Exposition Center of Bogatá, Corferias; the Colombian Construction Chamber, Camacol, and Prodiseño. Under the theme of “Towards sustainable construction and design”, Expoconstrucción Expodiseño 2009 had an attendance of 59 thousand visitors to its fair grounds, including businessmen, building contractors, architects, engineers, designers, decorators, installers, industrialists, and retailers
