St. Cloud Window Inc., a leading source for high performance commercial aluminum windows, historic replacement windows, architectural terrace doors, aluminum sliding glass doors and acoustically rated curtain wall products, recently broke ground on landmark properties in New York City.
Construction is underway on the latest renovation phase to the Floyd Bennett Field Hangers. The firm of Beyer, Blinder, Belle Architects & Planners utilizes the SCW Series 2500 windows in this latest phase.
Floyd Bennet Field is New York City’s first municipal airport, later became a naval station and is now a park. The park is on the National Register of Historic Places.
This project using the SCW Series 2500 highlights the importance of keeping the historic integrity intact all while performing with modern technology to meet today’s standards for the multitude of uses for the building.
The SCW Series 2500 windows are also set to be featured in the New York Science & Technology Center in the Brooklyn Army Terminal. The SCW Series 2500 simulated operating vents continue to be included in the restoration as the terminal expands into additional refurbishment phases.
The expected completion date is slated for December 2016 with the careful guidance of Architectural firm Mancini Duffy.
