The half year financial report shows an increase of some £50,000 over the previous year’s results. This puts their BIG Trade Counter on target for record year’s sales of some £1.5Million pounds.
Wayne Tracey, Listers Trade Counter Manager, says that these results are extremely pleasing especially during such difficult and competitive trading conditions; “Our trade counter team has worked extremely hard in continuing to improve our service and our product range. We are recognised as the leading building plastics supplier in the area and we continue to gain new customers who are adding to our success.”
Earlier this year Listers introduced Freefoam Building Products as a new key supplier of roofline products and Phil Warren, Listers Sales Director believes that this change has been a major factor in the BIG Trade Counter’s growth. “As soon as we introduced Freefoam products we noticed a marked increase in new customer interest from those wanting a high quality roofline range at a reasonable price. This along with Freefoam’s 20 year guarantee has gained us lots of new business.”
Listers projected sales for their Building Plastics Division this year of some £1.5Million is even more remarkable when you take into consideration that it all started out some years ago as a simple add-on to their Window and Conservatory Manufacturing business. Now they stock a complete range of building plastic construction products plus garage doors, rubberised flat roofing, cladding and laminated flooring etc for their customers.
Perhaps one other clue for their continued growth is in the name: The BIG Trade Counter refers to Listers business model of holding large amounts of stock on their shelves ready for same day collection and delivery. Wayne says that he hates to tell customers that they will have to wait a few days for delivery: “We hold the biggest range of products in the area, on the shelf ready to go and our customers appreciate that fact. In our division of Listers business we need to give the customer what he wants when he wants it, and that generally means right there and then!”
Lister Trade Frames are also reporting record sales in their main window, door and manufacturing business with June 2010 being their largest sales month ever. With this and the reported success with their BIG Trade Counter results it would seem that Listers are set for an all-round record year.
