PPG Industries’ automotive refinish business introduced the exclusive SideView Window format, which provides an open window adjacent to each color chip, in its all-new 2008 Domestic Color Information Book.

The SideView Window format enables users to place a color chip page over any part of a vehicle to identify the OEM code that best matches the repair. The 2008 book also features color chips mounted on special gray paper that will improve a technician’s ability to see subtle differences between similar colors.

The comprehensive guide offers color compatibility tables providing detailed underhood, accent, wheel and interior color combinations by model and exterior code. Information regarding the location of paint codes is available on the motor manufacturer tab pages.

“This book is a result of PPG’s dedication to continuous improvement and our commitment to providing world-class color tools,” said Mike Henry, manager, color print and electronic tools, PPG Automotive Refinish. “Color identification is one of the most critical processes that occurs in the body shop. We listened to our customers and developed a very user-friendly, functional tool that will improve a technician’s ability to find colors accurately and efficiently.”
