In scratch- and chemical-resistance tests, followed by 1,000 hours of exposure to accelerated heat and humidity tests in a corrosive environment, tempered Clarvista glass maintained its original appearance, outperforming tempered uncoated glass and tempered coated glass from a leading competitor.
Clarvista glass has several advantages for glass fabricators:
• Because of its coating, Clarvista glass processes like regular glass. As a result, it is easier to handle and temper than other coated shower glass products, and it is no more susceptible to surface scratches than uncoated glass.
• Clarvista glass does not require furnace modifications or additional equipment. PPG recommends that fabricators use standard furnace heat cycles appropriate to the glass thickness and substrate.
• The Clarvista glass coating is invisible and does not distract from the glass’s aesthetic quality.
Clarvista glass is available on clear and Starphire® ultra-clear glass substrates and in thicknesses of 6 millimeters (¼-inch), 10 millimeters (⅜-inch) and 12 millimeters (½-inch). Stock sizes are 96 inches x 130 inches. To order consumer literature, labels or product samples, visit www.ppgclarvista.com or call 1-888-PPG-GLAS (774-4527) to find a local distributor.
