Pilkington +4.6% at 154.75p amid press speculation that talks between the company and its rebuffed suitor Nippon Sheet Glass (5202.

TO) are back on, note traders. The new mooted price range is 165p to 170p notes analyst, "which is above the last rejected offer of 158p." Believes the range cited is plausible, and "wouldn't be surprised" if a deal were to happen at the higher end of that range. Neither Nippon nor Pilkington immediately available to comment.
